North Carolina State Auditor Dave Boliek to speak at Business Luncheon

North Carolina State Auditor Dave Boliek will speak at the Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce PowerLuncheon to be held Thursday, August 21st 11:45 – 1:15pm. The legislative luncheon will be held at Northstone Country Club 15801 Northstone Dr. in Huntersville. Boliek, who is serving his first term as State Auditor will touch on the NC DMV, the Impact of the “Big Beautiful Bill” on North Carolina, Sate Investigations, Financial Fraud, the use of Artificial Intelligence, and Watch Dog support groups. The luncheon is Presented by Regency at the Lake and supporting sponsors include Bluestar Move Management, Business Today / Cornelius Today, Success Lending, and WSIC.
Bill Russell, President & CEO of the Lake Norman Chamber, is excited about hosting State Auditor Boliek. “All of us have been impacted by long lines at the DMV and we are accustomed to seeing and hearing about the fraud, waste, or abuse within state government. Our State Auditor will speak to the recommendations his office is making to create more effective state agencies.”
Born in Lincolnton, North Carolina, Dave Boliek has lived in Fayetteville, Durham, Eden, Greensboro, Chapel Hill, Thomasville, Hickory, Boone, and Raleigh. He is a former prosecutor, small business owner, and most recently worked as an attorney and served as Chairman of the UNC-Chapel Hill Board of Trustees.
Dave’s legal career includes being an Assistant District Attorney in Cumberland County, where he prosecuted crimes in District and Superior Courts, and as a litigator practicing in State and Federal Courts. As Chairman of UNC-Chapel Hill Board of Trustees, Dave led the effort to eliminate the university’s operating deficit and created the Board of Trustees’ first Audit and Risk Committee.
