Lake Norman Chamber Honors Local Business Leaders at Annual Meeting
Dale Gillmore from Quest and Douglas Marion - Advanced Wealth Strategies receive Chamber's Highest Honors
Cornelius, NC – March 19, 2026 – The Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce recognized two outstanding business leaders during its Annual Meeting held Thursday, March 19 at The Peninsula Club in Cornelius. The Chamber presented its highest honors to Dale Gillmore and Douglas Marion for their exceptional leadership, business success, and commitment to the Lake Norman community.
Dale Gillmore, founder of Quest, was named the 2025 Robert T. Cashion Business Person of the Year—an award that represents the Chamber’s most prestigious individual honor. The award recognizes a business leader who not only achieves professional excellence but also mentors others and leaves a lasting positive impact on the community.
Since founding Quest in 2014, Gillmore has grown the firm into a highly respected advisory practice serving clients across the Southeast. Specializing in mergers and acquisitions, succession planning, tax strategy, and asset protection, Quest has expanded from a team of five to 25 professionals under his leadership. Known for his thoughtful, disciplined approach, Gillmore has earned the trust of business owners navigating complex transitions while maintaining a strong, client-focused culture.
Beyond business, Gillmore’s commitment to community service is equally impactful. He founded the Make an Impact Foundation in 2010, which has since delivered more than $6.5 million in initiatives benefiting children nationwide through programs focused on education, recreation, and workforce development. He also plays an active role in the Lake Norman Chamber’s Leaders and Legends program and serves on the board of the Cain Center for the Arts, helping expand access to arts and educational opportunities for local youth.
“Dale exemplifies the leadership, integrity, and vision that define this award,” said 2025 Chamber Board Chair Brian Sisson. “His ability to grow a successful business while investing deeply in the community makes him truly deserving of this honor.”
Also recognized during the event was Douglas Marion, owner and founder of Advanced Wealth Strategies, who received the 2025 McIntosh Law Firm Passion to Succeed Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
Marion founded Advanced Wealth Strategies in 2012 with a mission to help individuals and families better
understand financial planning, asset protection, and long-term wealth strategies. In 2024, his firm was recognized as one of the Charlotte Business Journal’s Fast 50 companies.
With more than 20 years of experience in financial services, Marion is known for his ability to simplify complex financial concepts and make them accessible to clients from all backgrounds. His leadership extends beyond his firm, having served as the 2023 Chairman of the Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce, as well as in roles with the Lenoir-Rhyne University Alumni Association and the Cain Center for the Arts.
Marion and his team are also deeply committed to community service, supporting organizations such as Angels & Sparrows, Ada Jenkins Center, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Carolinas through volunteerism and fundraising initiatives.
“The Passion to Succeed Award recognizes entrepreneurial spirit combined with a commitment to community,” said past Chamber Board Chair Bob McIntosh. “Douglas Marion represents both at the highest level.”
The Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce continues to celebrate and support the business leaders who drive economic growth and strengthen the region’s quality of life.
