Join us for our Focus Friday event on August 16, 2024, from 8:30AM to 9:30 AM, featuring Paul Shumaker of Capital Communications.

For over forty years, Paul Shumaker has been a leading figure in North Carolina politics, crafting data-driven strategies that have transformed the state's political landscape. With a record of five U.S. Senate wins, Paul has outperformed any other consultant in North Carolina over the past 25 years. Notably, he managed the most expensive U.S. Senate race in American history twice, including Senator Thom Tillis' $300 million victory in 2020. Recognized as the "'Data Guy' Behind North Carolina Republicans," Paul has also been pivotal in significant electoral achievements, such as Cherie Berry's historic win as the first statewide Republican female candidate and the Republican takeover of the North Carolina General Assembly in 2010 after 114 years. As the founder of Capitol Communications, Inc. and co-owner of Strategic Partners Solutions, Paul has worked with numerous political figures and organizations. He resides in Raleigh with his wife, Ruth Ann Burton, and their three adult children, with whom he enjoys fishing and hunting.
